Ladybugs

Since 1913, American Pest Solutions have been providing pest solutions. Trust Massachusetts' oldest family owned pest control company to protect your family & home.

Ladybugs

Ladybugs may be cute, and they are helpful in gardens, but they become a real problem when they invade your home. Families can experience full-blown infestations that cause dust allergies. Ladybugs also emit a yellow fluid when threatened. This substance can stain walls and furniture.

During cooler seasons, they seek warmth inside structures, often gathering in large numbers. This behavior makes them a nuisance, turning a beneficial insect into an unwelcome guest.

American Pest Solutions offers effective ladybug control services. We want to keep your living space free from these unwanted pests and help maintain your home’s comfort and safety.

Identifying a Ladybug Infestation

Signs and Symptoms

A noticeable increase in ladybugs indoors is a clear indication that an infestation has begun. You may observe small clusters gathering near windows, ceilings, or light fixtures.

Yellow staining on walls or fabrics could also signal an infestation. These stains are the result of the yellow fluid ladybugs secrete when disturbed. This residue has a distinct odor, so if you notice a persistent, foul smell, you may have ladybug problems.

You may also notice a dusty residue accumulating. Typically, these are found in areas where ladybugs gather in large numbers. This residue can trigger allergies in sensitive individuals. If your family is experiencing more reactions, you may have a problem.

Common Areas Where Ladybugs Hide

Ladybugs commonly enter buildings through small cracks or gaps around doors and windows. Once inside, they seek out warm, secluded locations

They prefer clustering in attics, basements, and wall voids. You might find them nesting behind insulation, under furniture, and in dark corners. They congregate in large numbers, so any hidden area can give them warmth and protection. Roof eaves, window frames, and chimneys serve as common entry points and resting spots for ladybugs searching for shelter.
